Spot Improvement

Spot Improvement is carried out to roads in fair and in transient to poor condition. The term spot improvement shall mean localised maintenance works carried out on paved and unpaved roads on short sections (typically 1 km or less) of roads in order to ensure a reasonable level of passability, and comprises of activities such as road surface repairs, embankment repairs, culvert and drainage repairs, localised road reshaping and regravelling, and the construction of diversions. Spot improvement is usually done due to the excessively poor condition of a road over a short section that threatens the flow of traffic.
