Mission

RMF has the mission of efficiently maintaining the classified road network for sustainable development of the national economy in line with the national policies in place.

Financial Management and Fund Administration

RMF is mandated to mobilize, manage, and disburse funds dedicated to road maintenance. This includes receiving financial resources and ensuring their effective allocation to the maintenance of National, District, and City of Kigali Class One roads, as well as any other roads designated by the Minister in charge of infrastructure.

Oversight, Compliance, and Coordination

  • RMF is mandated to ensure accountability and efficiency in road maintenance operations by:
  • Collaborating with relevant institutions in the preparation of road maintenance programmes;
  • Ensuring that tender and feasibility study documents comply with applicable laws before fund disbursement;
  • Verifying that contracted road works are properly executed before payments are made
